Happy New Year! It is 2018, and that means that is the end of Ryan’s Christmas Lights for 2017. Boo! I hope you have had a chance to come by and see the show, but if not there will be videos!
Videos of the display are currently being edited, so these are still a little while away before being uploaded to ryanschristmaslights.com/videos/#2017. I will post another update when they are ready to watch.
Merry Christmas to you all, I hope the day was a great one. Although Christmas is almost over, the lights display will continue running from 8:30 to 10:30 pm until December 31. Videos now need to be captured and will hopefully begin to be uploaded before New Years Eve!
Happy New Year everyone! Ryan’s Christmas Lights 2016 has now finished and planning begins for 2017.
All of the 2016 videos are now online and available to watch, in particular the new 2016 song, a 4-song Christmas Medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drv9yqdfAzo
First and most importantly Merry Christmas to you all! I hope the day has been a great one. The light display will continue to run from 8:30 to 10:30 pm until New Years Eve – unless it rains – so there is still time to come past if you haven’t had the chance.
Secondly, I have now published five videos of this year’s Christmas light display. There are three more videos to come before the year is over, including a new song!
Good news! The first video of the year has now been published online for your viewing pleasure. Check out the 2016 videos page if you’d like to watch it.
Regarding tonight’s show please note the big santa, sleigh and a small amount of miscellaneous lighting will not be switched on tonight due to the weather conditions and chance of heavy rain. They should be back tomorrow night :).
Happy New Year to all. With the New Year now welcomed in this morning, it is time to bid adieu to Ryan’s Christmas Lights 2015. The full 2015 playlist has now been uploaded (at last!) and accessible in the video gallery.
Christmas is fast approaching with under 1 week to go, and other than one wet night Ryan’s Christmas Lights has been running throughout the month. At this time of the month there is a higher volume of traffic (pedestrians and cars) so I would like to ask everyone to be extra cautious of this when in the area. Street parking is available in both Emerald Street and Jet Road if you would like to take a closer look at the display, stretch your legs, et cetera.
Unfortunately, the new roof outline that was planned to be part of the 2015 display will not be working by Christmas and may not feature until 2016 due to unexpected equipment failure. It is thought that the source of the problem could be a faulty power supply that was providing a higher voltage output than it should have, resulting in equipment damage. There is the slimmest of chances the roof outline might be working after Christmas before the end of the month so the official display videos have been delayed until then!
The first photos of the 2015 display are now online for viewing – woohoo!
Of course, Christmas lights always look better in person. If you’d like to visit the display the Directions page will tell you how to get here (and as a bonus, addresses for some other synchronised musical Christmas light displays around Adelaide).
Ryan’s Christmas Lights turn on nightly at 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm (unless it is raining).
Christmas Day is just around the corner, now! As promised, all of the 2014 videos are now completed and published for viewing, including:
All of the 2014 videos (yes, there are more!) may be accessed from the video gallery.
Ryan’s Christmas Lights 2014 started as planned on December 1 this year and has been running nightly since then. Aside from some physical display alterations (like the introduction of a quad-colour mega tree star topper), there is also a new song in the playlist this year. That song is Christmas Bells Medley by Scott Gonzalez, which takes the infamous tunes of Carol of the Bells and Oh Holy Night and turns it into a new compilation.
The other 2014 display videos that are online and viewable are:
More videos to come as Christmas edges closer! Don’t forget to check out and like the Ryan’s Christmas Lights facebook page for an exclusive FB video showing Fireworks near the display.
