Ryan’s Christmas Lights in 2017

It has been quiet lately, but fear not Ryan’s Christmas Lights has not gone anywhere! Setup is well on the way for 2017 for a planned start of December 2nd (Saturday) from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Why the 2nd? Weather forecasts predict heavy rain for December 1st.

This year there will be a new song, and a new lighting addition along the front of the house (although there is still a bit to do to have this ready).

Ryan’s Christmas Lights returns for 2016

Mega Tree partially installedToday is the day of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant when Santa Claus comes to town and for many this event marks the start of the festive season. For some it has become tradition to put up the Christmas tree on this day, only this isn’t your average Christmas tree.

YES, I am happy to announce Ryan’s Christmas Lights will be back this season! In less than 3 weeks Ryan’s Christmas Lights will once again light up Salisbury East nightly, beginning December 1.

Stay tuned … later in the month I will post about some additions/changes to the display – one of which is a new sequenced song.

Mid-Year Update

2009 marks the tenth year of decorating, and this year’s display is well into the planning stages with two songs completely sequenced and a third one to follow shortly. All up, there will be four songs in total (not including intermission, opening or closing tracks).

I am pleased to say that the talented Carrie Lyn Infusion single titled Suite Christmas Rush will again be in the playlist this year. The song can be purchased for personal use on the CDBaby website for just US$1.

To keep the suspense I will not be naming the other songs just yet – you will have to check back closer to showtime.

At this stage I am thinking this year (2009) will be the last year that I try to do things ‘bigger and better’ for some time. I would like to continue doing a display each year, but just not on such a massive scale due to the amount of time it takes to get things right.

Also, the webcam is currently down and has been for quite a while. The situation is that the Windows XP driver for my capture card (WinFast TV2000 XP Expert) is incompatible with a new computer causing blue screen of death errors every couple of days. So until a fix can be found or a new capture card can be installed, I’ll have to keep the webcam offline – sorry.
